Practice Emphasis

Ms. Woods concentrates her practice on construction and commercial litigation at both the trial and appellate level. She represents and counsels owners, developers, construction managers, contractors, subcontractors and tenants in both litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Ms. Woods has prosecuted and defended claims involving construction contracts, mechanics liens, construction defects, design errors and omissions, and construction injury claims. Ms. Woods has also focused on complex commercial litigation. Specifically, her experience includes contract litigation, products liability litigation, financial institution litigation, and aviation litigation.

Representative Matters

Ms. Woods has represented and counseled a wide variety of clients, including owners and contractors, regional banks, business owners, major telecommunications companies, pilots and corporations in regulatory matters, avionics manufacturers, and product manufacturers and distributors. Ms. Woods has taken five jury trials to verdict and has prosecuted and defended multiple appeals..

Education

Ms. Woods graduated from Indiana University and went on to graduate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with honors. While at Loyola, Ms. Woods served as an editor of the Commercial Law Review, participated on the National Moot Court Team, and worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Ronald Guzman, a judge for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. After law school, Ms. Woods worked as a staff attorney for the Illinois Supreme Court.
