Laurie & Brennan Supports the Block Kids Building Competition

October 31, 2017 Community Involvement

On October 28, 2017, Erin Krejci and Kendall Woods volunteered for the Chicago-area Block Kids Building Competition.

Sponsored by the Chicago Metro Chapter 325 of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), the Federation of Women Contractors (FWC), and the Architecture and Construction Management programs at College of DuPage, Block Kids is a national building competition for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.  Participating boys and girls create unique construction projects utilizing their imaginations, plastic blocks and other provided materials.

Erin, a member of FWC, and Kendall, president of the Chicago chapter of NAWIC, proudly support the award-winning Block Kids Building Competition and its efforts to introduce children to the construction industry and promote careers in the industry.

In addition to the competition, the event also included the opportunity to “Touch-A-Truck.”  FWC members brought some of their industrial vehicles and equipment for the children (and adults) to experience up close.
