Bill Toliopoulos to Discuss Construction Risks at 2020 ICSC U.S. Law Conference

October 15, 2020 Presentations

Bill Toliopoulos will be providing a virtual presentation and participating in an interactive discussion on the issues surrounding construction risks associated with commercial leases at the annual International Council of Shopping Centers (“ICSC”) U.S. Law Conference on Friday, October 16 from 2:30-3:45 pm

The conference’s presentation, “What’s More Dangerous Than Tiger Training with Carol Baskin? Construction Risks in Lease Work Letters” will likely be almost as entertaining as the Netflix documentary.

In their presentation, Bill and his co-panelists will cover how best to avoid legal pitfalls in negotiating commercial leases and related construction work letters.  The discussion will include:

  • An assessment of early risk management options
  • The establishment of completion standards
  • The definition of deliverables
  • Other additional key considerations for landlords, tenants, and their respective project teams

In covering these topics, Bill will also discuss risk elements of the construction project that are likely to present themselves as well as many key legal issues practitioners must consider as they manage schedule, cost, and quality risks throughout the construction process.
