Laurie & Brennan Earns Top Ranking in Chambers USA 2025 with Seven Ranked Lawyers

Laurie & Brennan, LLP (“L&B”) – for the sixth year in a row – earned the top ranking for Illinois construction law firms from Chambers USA. In addition to earning a Band I ranking as a team, this year seven of L&B’s attorneys achieved individual rankings for construction law: Ty Laurie, Dan Brennan, Ryan Hiss, Krista Kapp, Ross Altman, Bill Toliopoulos and Chad Shifrin. No other firm in Illinois has as many construction lawyers ranked by Chambers USA.

Dan Brennan was again recognized with a Band 1 ranking, the highest possible ranking, with a client describing Dan quite simply as “one of the best.” This is Dan’s twenty-first year being ranked by Chambers and the fourth consecutive year ranked as Band 1.

Ryan Hiss earned a Band 2 ranking and has been ranked individually by Chambers for four consecutive years. Ryan is described as “an outstanding attorney who exemplifies intelligence and sound judgment” and who demonstrates “exceptional creativity.”

Krista Kapp, a Chambers’ honoree since 2018, again earned a Band 2 ranking. Krista is described as a “highly intelligent and sharp attorney with a focus on building consensus.”

Bill Toliopoulos earned a Band 3 recognition for the second year in a row. Bill is described as “an excellent attorney and a great deal-maker.”

Chad Shifrin, described as “the go-to attorney for complex and sophisticated construction disputes”, achieved a Band 3 ranking for the second consecutive year.

Chambers recognized Ty Laurie and Ross Altman as Senior Statespersons for 2025. Ty has been ranked by Chambers since 2003 and Ross since 2004.
